Crafting system takes SO long to be able to become a Grand Master whatever.
1500xp to become (for example) a Grand Master Metalsmith.
You grind endless Ancient Iron ore which as to be processed endlessly as well.
With 200 ores you can barely get 50xp.
4 xp for basic components and then 6xp for the armour piece itself. And then the only thing you can do to gain a little money back is sell the armour to the vendor as nobody will buy the most basic armour.
That is really taking it down.
Now what would be a good option then? Basically cut the xp needed to become a GM.
Once you reach GM level you could try to implement experience points instead of the crit chance we have now. (Every critted armour or tool is precisely the same at this time. Only thing why it might sell is to lower the price).
Allow me to explain the experience points system.
You have for example 5 experience points you can put into your armour to raise certain stats. Let's say the armour piece gives the following basic stats: 240 armour, +5 fate, +5 might and +5 vitality.
Every experience point you have has a chance to increase the basic stats.
Let's say I am putting in 2 experience points on the armour value and 1 on all the other stats.(You can also put the 5 experience points in one stat to max it out.)
When it works the stats could be something like:
290 armour, +7fate, +7 might and +7 vitality.
This way every armour will be different and therefore the market will be influenced in a good way in my opinion.
Everyone will try to make the armour by request of the client which influences a lot of problems you see now.
Perhaps an idea for the devs? To fine-tune the game.
Also one more thing.
The extra's we get.
Book 11 had the housing. It is looking great and all but also there are flaws in it from my experience.
In book 12 we are going to have the option of rotating the furniture we have in our home. Why was this not immediatly implemented in Book 11? It would have saved us a lot of time and a lot of posts on this forum.
Please devs. It's perfectly fine of thinking of new things but in my opinion you could do so much more with the stuff you are putting in. Unfortunately they have been coming in 3 months later (read new book) than you could have. Now we don't know a lot about book 12 yet (other than of course the continued storyline and the rotating thingie for our homes).
Don't ever consider making crafting easier than it already is. So many people are Grand Master in several professions, and keep in mind that what Grand Master crafting offer is the best gear in the game - making that even more accessible would be the killing blow for all current fellowship / raiding instance rewards.
Crafting is only rewarding if you are prepared to put in the time, effort and often considerable amount of financial investment required to complete the highest tiers. Finding an understanding and helpful kinship is one of the best things you can do to assist yourself.
Once you've completed your crafting training, then yes - it's very rewarding to see your kinmates using arms and armour with your makers stamp on it, or to be selling your goods at a profit in the auction house
